Wes Nessman

Wes is part of the Rock Show.  He is also one of the owners of “Nightmare On 19th Street.”  He occasionally picks up a bass guitar and beats on it like a monkey trying to get ants out of stick. Likes Tattoos. Hates Christmas. Orphans in cute hats tick him off.  Wes does his solo show on Saturday and Sunday mornings that way only hungover guys and girls shopping to replace missing underwear listen to him.

The RockShow Delivers an Epic Ferguson Summary and Rant [AUDIO/VIDEO]

As we mention at the beginning of this bit, there is stupid stuff happening everywhere you turn in Ferguson Missouri. I don't care what side you choose (hopefully you don't chose any), but there are numbnuts making an incredibly tragic situation worse.

Remembering One of the Greatest Wrestlers and Humans Ever, Eddie Guerrero [PHOTOS]

Seeing Sting finally in a WWE ring this week got me thinking about some of my favorite wrestlers. I've spent time with quite a few of them: Terry Funk, Ric Flair, The Big Show and Triple H.  As cool as these gentlemen are, I don't think I've ever met a gentler soul than Eddie Guerrero.

What Is the Most Dangerous Intersection in Lubbock?

I wouldn't be writing this blog if I didn't have a strong nominee. There is a really weird intersection over by my house in North Lubbock. I've seen people wreck there, go the wrong way on a one way and even die in that intersection. It's one of the most confusing pieces of engineering anywhere.

Who Picks These Superbowl Halftime Shows Anyways?

I don't believe that you could put ten NFL fans in a room, ask them to list their Top Ten Most Wanted Superbowl Halftime acts, and out of those 100 answers, NOT ONE would say Katy Perry.

What Was The Largest Concert You Ever Attended?

I think my largest show was the Rolling Stones on their Bridges To Babylon tour at the Texas Motor Speedway.  I did go to one Texas Jam ('86 with Van Halen & Dio) and my second ever concert was at Anaheim Stadium (where the Angels play) that was Skynyrd/Nugent/Foreigner/Reo Speedwagon and T-Rex.  I later saw Bob Dylan and The Grateful Dead at the same place.

Don’t Forget Christmas For The Kitties And Doggies!

I am a big fan of animal charities. Animals get my time and money because they can't help themselves.  Let's also not forget that for some people, an animal is the only companion they have.  For this reason, Meals On Wheels helps out with the kitties and doggies on their routes too.

Do You Remember the FMX Firecracker Five?

On July 5, 2001, Disturbed, Slipknot, Linkin Park, Papa Roach and Mudvayne hit the stage at the Lone Star Amphitheater.

It was all killer and no filler.  Seriously, when was the last concert where EVERY SINGLE BAND ON THE BILL ended up becoming a headliner?

Why In The World Would We Need A Concrete Stage In The Depot District?

Man this one gets under my skin.  There is a plan afoot to have a concrete stage added to Buddy and Maria Elena Holly Plaza (I guess that means the area where that statue is).  The people involved say that it "could" be used for large outdoor concerts.

Throwback Thursday: Rockin’ a Listener’s Backyard in 1988 (Photo)

A listener posted this to the front page of KFMX.com. It is circa 1998. I'm glad he remembered the year because I would have been at a total loss.

What Was The First ‘Album’ You Ever Bought?

I was a top 40 kid. There used to be a rack at the store and they actually had the top 40 singles in each slot. Each week I'd go in and pick up the ones I didn't have. Heck, they were cheap. I don't remember how cheap, but it wasn't much. Then I started getting a real allowance. With my first cash payout I went and bought three albums.

Washington State Holds Its First Legal Weed Auction

We are living in INSANE times, my friends. This is going on on the West Coast while the same thing could get you thrown in jail for life here. That, in a nutshell, is the stupidity of American politics. Let's not get too far off track here and instead look at giant bags of weed.
