SNL Asks The Question, Who Is Really Buying Those Running Shoes [VIDEO]

I remember the first time I ever encountered a pair of New Balance shoes. It was about 1980. I was amazed that shoes could be so light. Now 33 years later those shoes tend to be comfort wear rather than athletic shoes. It's with this transition that Saturday Night Live has their fun. More after the jump.

I don't know if New Balance shoes were ever that cool, but they are certainly not cool any more.  I don't know if you could possibly kill off whatever cache a brand has worse than with a Saturday Night Skit.  From running shoes, to basically "shoes for fat people" in one fell swoop.  It would almost be cruel if it wasn't so funny.  Check it out:
