South Plains Food Bank Helps Feed Hungry Kids All Summer Long

There are kids who rely on the school year to have one hot, nutritious meal per day. That's it, that's what they get. The South Plains Food Bank helps fill the gap during the summer months.

A kid can walk into one of the Kids Cafe location and get a hot meal no questions asked.  There are multiple locations in Lubbock and some listed in Ralls, Lorenzo, Lamesa and Abernathy. A full listing of the locations is here, but you might want to double check since this has not been updated for 2017.

This is also a very good time to remind those of you who may have a little more, or just want to cycle some stuff out of your personal pantry on how you can help the South Plains Food Bank. There are many drives during the year and you can even host your own. You can just drop them a check too. Here's more on helping out. If you don't have cash or food to donate, they could always use your help with a little elbow grease as well.
