Scary news, True Believers: TMZ reports Marvel’s Stan Lee was rushed to the hospital yesterday “after suffering shortness of breath and an irregular heartbeat.” Thankfully, Lee is already back home; ABC spoke with Lee via Skype, who said he is feeling better and resting.

I'm glad I spent that evening in the hospital. It did me a lot of good. It probably did my fans a lot of good. It kept me off their backs for the evening. But I'm feeling good now and I can't wait to get in there and tangle with all the competition.

Lee was still making appearances as recently as Monday, when he showed up for the red carpet premiere of the latest Marvel movie, Black Panther. Lee created the character with artist Jack Kirby, and, as is custom, has a cameo in the film. Initial reports claimed Lee would remain in the hospital for a few days to recover, but based on that Skype interview, it appears he was released early.

Given his still-hectic schedule of public appearances at movie premieres and comic book conventions, it’s easy to forget Lee is 95 years old. He seems to have the energy of a man 30 years younger; it must be all that Infinity Formula he drinks. Here’s wishing Stan a speedy recovery and many more years of movie cameos.
