It is hard to believe that it has nearly been a month since Smile Empty Soul and HURT rocked the Hub city's newest live music venue, The Republic on Texas. I can not tell you how friggin amazing this band is live.

Both bands put on such amazing performances that you find yourself thinking band to the last time you saw them, and anticipating the next time they roll into town.

One of the coolest things about catching a HURT show is how these guys always stick around to not just sign stuff for fans, but how they hang out and talk to them.

The emotions the music and the lyrics of HURT's music draw their fans in, the truly kind and gracious spirit of J. Loren Wince towards people is one of the things that make them fans for life.

A few days before the guys played here they did a show for our sister station in Abilene, and our own Frank Pain sat down with J. discuss the music and life on the road.

Check out the audio of the Payne man's interview here, J. even gives Ethan a shout out.

If you ever have the pleasure to meet this guy, I promise you every stereotype you have of a "rock star" will be shattered.
