Ready for an old school throwdown? The surviving members of Static-X intend on honoring the legacy of their classic breakout album, Wisconsin Death Trip, by reuniting the original lineup and performing music from the disc while on tour this summer. Static-X will co-headline the tour with DevilDriver, and they've invited fellow hard rocking vets Dope to provide support.

Bassist Tony Campos, drummer Ken Jay and guitarist Koichi Fukuda will also use the show as a way to honor late frontman Wayne Static. Campos says in a statement, "Our intention is to pay ultimate respect to Wayne and to celebrate the music that has been in all of our hearts for more than 20 years. It's all about channeling the vibe from 1999 to the best of our ability and playing those classic Static-X songs live and loud with the fans."

"Rehearsals have been awesome," adds Fukuda. "The music and the vocals are sounding really great! I feel like Wayne would be proud."

"We understand that people are naturally going to want to know more about who is singing," says Jay. "We have discussed this at great length and we came to the conclusion that at this time, it would be inappropriate for us to put the focus on anyone other than Wayne, Tony, Koichi and myself. This feels like the best way for us to celebrate Wayne's legacy, along with the 20th anniversary of 'Wisconsin Death Trip', with all of our fans."

The tour will kick off June 18 in Tempe, Ariz., with dates booked through a July 27 finale in Las Vegas, Nev. See all of the stops listed below.

In addition to the tour, the living Static-X members intend to release a new album titled Project Regeneration later this year featuring music that Static had worked on prior to his death. Teaming up with producer Ulrich Wild, the band is said to be working on potentially 12 to 15 brand new songs for the disc.

"We had a lot of material to work with... several demos that Wayne left behind, as well as some really great isolated vocal performances from some nearly finished songs," said Campos. "Together, we have been writing and crafting something very special!"

It has been hinted that musicians such as Disturbed's David Draiman, Five Finger Death Punch's Ivan Moody, Ministry's Al Jourgensen, DevilDriver's Dez Fafara, Dope's Edsel Dope and Fear Factory's Burton C. Bell will lend their vocals for tracks that were unfinished that Static had left behind. Pre-orders for the set are available at www.static-x.org.
