A suspect has been arrested for Tuesday’s shooting of two people in Central Lubbock.

Twenty-six-year-old Jerry Lee Garza was booked into the Lubbock County Jail on Thursday and has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and a parole violation.

Court documents obtained by KAMC News on Thursday indicated Garza told police he was "seeing demons" prior to the shooting.

According to Lubbock Police, the incident occurred in the 4800 block of Canton Avenue around 1:31 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7.

When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered both a man and woman suffering from gunshot wounds.

Geory Smith (40) suffered life threatening injuries from a gunshot wound to the back and Kimbra Andrade was shot in the hand.
