When it came to grunge, Pearl Jam was one of my top two (STP being the other). I can't really explain it, but there was something just a little more soulful about Pearl Jam. Soundgarden brought it hard, Nirvana was for the disenchanted (and I wasn't that disenchanted) and Alice In Chain was a bit more "trippy". Now, 22 years after it's release Pearl Jam's epic first release "Ten" has sold ten million copies. More after the jump.

An Epic Anniversary For Lubbock

It was 12 years ago today that Pearl Jam played Lubbock. The fortunate thing about this anniversary is that you can relive it anytime you want. This was the tour that Pearl Jam started recording and releasing every single show. They made the Lubbock show extra special too but playing a song they learned 'just for the show', played that one time and have never played it again. More after the jump.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers were one of my first favorite bands. By "favorite' I mean a band that I followed all through their career, saw multiple times in concert, bought their stuff and more. For some reason, whether the current trend was rock, new wave or even metal, there always seemed to be room for Tom Petty. Now, when grunge got big, I wasn't the biggest Nirvana fan, instead I gravitated towards Pearl Jam. Tom Petty has got a big grumpy in his old age, and Pearl Jam's output tends to be spotted, but live both bands, and both band leaders are undeniable. Check out some bad-ass jams after the jump.

We found another track of Eddie Vedder playing a new song that may or may not be apart of his upcoming solo c.d. Eddie sure seems found of using that w.t.f? he's playing. Is that a guitar shaped ukulele or what? Anyways, it doesn't rock, but it could serve as a wedding song or something. Maybe he'll get this out of his system and the next P.J. album will rock.
