Slayer guitarist Kerry King has revealed detailed plans for the band’s upcoming album. In a recent interview with Metal Hammer, King stated that Slayer’s next full-length will be finished and possibly released as early as this summer.

Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian was forced to sit out of last night’s (Jan. 26) show in Kansas City, Mo., after taking ill. Filling in for Ian at the show were the two guitarists Alex Skolnick and Eric Peterson from co-headliners Testament, as well as musicians from Death Angel who all switched off during different songs throughout Anthrax’s set.

Riot guitarist Mark Reale passed away Wednesday (Jan. 25) at the age of 57 after being hospitalized for severe complications from his longtime battle with Crohn’s disease. Reale had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage and was in a coma for the past two weeks.
