Hours before the gates opened, a small band of FMX winners gathered at the Lone Star Amphitheater in Lubbock, Texas. (3-11-13) After a quick stop at the merchandise booth to buy signable items, the small band of Volbeat fans soon found themselves on their way back stage to meet the band. No one was disappointed. The afternoon came early for those that attended the birthday bash the night before. While we waited on our first meet-n-greet of the day, we noticed how clean and empty the amphitheater was. It would have been impossible to know that there had been a major concert there just hours before if we had not been at it, and if the Birthday Bash was any indication, X-Fest 9 was going to cap off one of the greatest rock and roll weekends that Lubbock has seen in a long time. The Korn meet-n-greet also had an exciting surprise. Fieldy's son was with him and he traveled down the line with his dad signing his first autographs. When Stone Sour and Theory Of A Deadman hit town on Saturday 4-16-11 some lucky KFMX winners were able to have a BBQ lunch with the bands. During In This Moment's set we once again met at the secret meeting place and were secretly escorted down a hall, out a back door across an alley and into what appeared to be a secret Warehouse 13/Area 51 hanger. Shadowy figues came at us, probes in hand.
