I expect there will be a few upset rivetheads in Lubbock just from the headline of this article, but I can back it up. I point to one simple proof. Lamb Of God is the best know hardcore metal act anywhere. Lamb Of God played Lubbock on Saturday night. Turnout for Lamb Of God was pathetic. Ergo, metal is dead in Lubbock. Sorry, see ya, that's it.

Metallica‘s ‘Beyond Magnetic’ EP will see release in another format: silver vinyl. At first, the EP was digital only and then issued on CD. Now, to celebrate Record Store Day, the metal monoliths will release the EP on wax of the silver sort. Record Store Day is April 21, so look for it at your favorite mom and pop record retailer then, or via their website.
I'm "eating some words" here. I initially said that the three Skrillex tracks on the new Korn "The Path To Totality" c.d. were the only good ones. I'm going to add this one to the list, and after this, I'm going to go back and give the c.d. a couple more listens. What makes this stick out a little less than the Skrillex tracks (Get Up, Narcissistic Cannibal, Chaos Lives In Everything) is the way it's mixed. The dub elements on this track are very much in the front of the mix while a very cool melody from Jonathan Davis is mixed into the background. More after the jump.

In December, Metallica celebrated their 30th year as a band with four very special shows in San Francisco. The fourth and final show led to some truly incredible events, including former Metallica members Dave Mustaine and Jason Newsted joining the band onstage.
