I saw Ratt here in Lubbock at a little club called Abbey Road. "Round And Round" had just started to take off. At the show Stephan Pearcy proudly proclaimed that it was their last club show. Well for at least a decade or more, it was.
I got a great idea for the next full-on Batman movie. How about Joker's girlfriend comes back for revenge? The Bat is tormented because he doesn't want to beat up a girl so he gets kicked in the Bat nuts a whole bunch. It's awesome I know. This continues until the end of the film where Batman finally has a chance to finish her, but as he pauses mid-punch, a voice off screen goes "Hello Bats!" and then it shows the Joker from the back looking over the scene, freeze frame, then out Where's my $100 mil for this brilliant idea?
The biggest, baddest "Son of a Bitch" who every put on a pair of teeny wrestling shorts has spoken. The discussion is over and he just laid a Stone Cold Stunner on anyone who thought you can't be a "man's man" and speak up for marriage equality.
Ralphie May is headed back to Lubbock. Ralphie always draws killer crowds and for once you may have a shot at some really good tickets. Have you wondered why those McCartney tickets are going on sale Friday? It's probably because Ralphie had the Saturday onsale locked up. So while everyone is still distracted with the cute Beatle, you can snag some awesome comedy tickets.
This one just may drag me back to theaters. When I first saw the original Sin City my immediate thought was that "all comic book movies should be done this way". Just imagine The Crow or Batman or even Conan done in this badass black and white with only occasional colors style.
One of our listeners came up with this idea, and I'm embarrassed we didn't think of it first. People who are from Italy are Italians. People from Lubbock are Lubbockites. So why can't people who like FMX, be "FMXICANS"?
It is a sad fact, the world is full of "haves" and "have-nots". I hate to break it to ya, you're probably going to be a "have-not" when it comes to getting tickets for Paul McCartney. Those tickets are probably so picked over at this point that any remaining single seats will probably be gone about ten seconds after the go on sale.
This is a tough one. I think people who want to get high are going to get high and there's nothing you can do about it. You just have to hope that you can help get them over whatever the reasons are that they feel the need to escape. It seems to me that prohibition is the root of this latest evil and lifting it is the easiest solution.
This one opens up some fun memories. I would hope at this point in your life you've caught a free glimpse of something fun. Sure, you're a nice, moral, upstanding person, but if it's out there, it's out there and you couldn't help it.
This was another great question. Since we do blog and photo galleries we deal with this all of the time. I can even give you a great example. Somehow Lubbock Online talks their way into FMX events, takes pictures, then publishes them on their web site without even saying it's an FMX event. I have an even better example for you.
I recently saw this list called "20 Signs You're From Lubbock Texas". I think it was actually an ad for a relator. Inside were some things about Lubbock that made a bunch of sense and bunch of others that were real head scratchers. Rather than propagate those observations, I have a few of my own.
