Lubbock Texas is extremely lucky to have the State's Largest Haunted Theme Park right in it's backyard. Nightmare On 19th Street offers hours of screams and entertainment each night that it is open. Each year it grows larger and better. As you can imagine, the park does not run itself, but instead requires 100 to 150 people a night to keep things running smoothly. (More following the jump.)

It was a dark and stormy night, no really; it's dark and there are storms all over West Texas, and we decided it was a perfect night to check out Nightmare on 19th. As we got out of the car and walked toward the gate we could hear the the sounds of the certifiably insane combined with spine tingling, blood curdling screams coming from every direction. My " was that rain? maybe we should come back another night" didn't work, so I tried another approach...

TRUE STORY (Lubbock Texas) When Clowns Attack... Halloween night at Nightmare On 19th Street this year had to be the most fun... dangerous to date. Years ago, when Clown Town was closed down and destroyed under questionable circumstances, all the evil spirits trapped in clown bodies had no where to go and quickly grew more and more restless. They began gathering together and danced under the stars until, in a hypnotic frenzy, they would burst out into the night, finding others to join the dance. When the dancers started disappearing, the authorities gathered up the Clowns and committed them indefinitely to The Sanitarium. That is, until Halloween night... (Jump ahead if ya dare!)

BlindFold Charlie rocked the Nightmare Courtyard Saturday 10-15-11. Both sets were well received by the intended victims... welcome visitors, as they waited in line, and it added additional excitement to the already charged carnival type atmosphere. The excitement was evident by the nervous laughter heard throughout the park. Photos follow the jump.

After watching the expanding of Blood Moon Manor and Dr. Nexum's Sanitarium plus the building of the all new City Of The Lost, this summer, I could not wait to see the park in action. Each haunt is about one third larger than last year, and the Graveyard and Badger Holler are still there for a midnight stroll in between haunts. (Photos follow the jump)
