As with most unfortunate news, this one comes to us abruptly with no warning. The great Wes Craven, the legendary horror filmmaker who brought us films such as A Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream, has died at 76. Craven had been battling brain cancer and passed away in his home in Los Angeles.

This is a pretty huge blow to fans of wrestling, but also to fans of awesome humans in general. “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, the legendary wrestling star and actor, has passed away at the age of 61. Piper had previously been struggling with cancer, but according to early reports, his death was the result of a cardiac arrest.

In a completely tragic and unfathomable turn of events, beloved actor and comedian Robin Williams has died at the age of 63. Williams was found in his home in California earlier today, as confirmed by the Marin County Sheriff's department.

Beloved character actor James Gandolfini, best known as Tony Soprano on HBO's classic mafia series 'The Sopranos,' has passed away suddenly at the age of 51 after a heart attack.

You probably know Alex Karras as the 'dad' or father figure on Webster.  Prior to that he did a bunch of movies but was probably best known as "Mongo" in the Mel Brooks classic "Blazing Saddles".  Now I'm sure he had more poignant moments and more dramatic moments on film.  Still, I think this one scene stops the remote control every time you pass by the television.  Click thou

Someone get Mr. Kotter a box of tissues. Robert Hegyes, who played Juan Luis Pedro Phillipo de Huevos Epstein — better known as simply Epstein — on the 1970s sitcom ‘Welcome Back Kotter’ died from an apparent heart attack on Thursday at the age of 60.
