Wow, my DVR got a workout. With Kristen Wigg and Vampire Weekend on Saturday Night Live, there was TONS to fast forward through. I just don't "get" most of the Kristen Wiig characters. , "Garth And Katt", ""The Target Lady", yes, they brought back the stuff I hate the most. There was a few seconds of "Gilly" who's okay and the baby hands singer is kind of watchable, but the rest? Phew-wee! Among all the fluff though was a truly inspired skit. More after the jump.

I used to wait all week for Saturday Night Live. I'd schedule around it, I'd quote it and I wouldn't miss it for the world. I watched from season one all the way through the year before last and then two things happened: Kristen Wiig and the DVR. Others hail her as a comedic genius but I found Wiig to be so annoying I switched over to DVRing the episodes and skipping through her parts.

I had got to the point of d.v.r.ing the show and skipping the really terrible stuff and ending up with about ten minutes of watchable material. Now I feel like I'm truly staring at "an idiot box". Saturday Night Live was rough. I mean seriously rough. They had an okay cold open about Newt Gingrich's Moon statements, but I'm not going to waste your time filling you in on the politics (because if you don't know them, the bit would make no sense).
