Today is "National Farmer Day".  It's almost impossible to live around here without being around someone in the farming industry.

My family farms cotton in Union/Wellman and my next door neighbor farms out somewhere around New Deal. My nephew likes to bring up a pig or two.  The point is, even though I'm originally a "city kid", I am highly impacted by farming and you probably are too.

Cotton is still king on the South Plains, but Sorghum has made some inroads. Right now, pumpkins are a big crop and we even venture into corn, grapes and more.  As the city grows, it pushes the farmers out and we tend to forget about them (except when we cuss them when we get behind a tractor on the road).  Today would be a good day to give them a thumbs up instead.

I'm all about making someones day. Today it's the farmers turn. So, thank you to each and everyone of you for all that you do.
