Once you start writing, it's hard to stop. It's hard not to put your thoughts down on paper. They tend to just bounce around in your head until you write them down. I write things for the radio blogs, I write things for my own Facebook pages and some stuff I write down that I don't think anyone will ever see. I feel like I have to write about the murders in Paris yesterday even though I'm sure I have little to nothing to add to the discussion.

Let's set this up. Paris has a satire newspaper. Kind of imagine the Cracked Website if it were political and a newspaper instead of just being on the web. These satirists had made jokes about and printed pictures of Mohammed. Yesterday Islamic Fundamentalists went to the offices of this place and killed 12 people. Ten of the murdered were with the newspaper and two were with the police. One of the police was wounded and a suspect just walked up and executed him.  These scum murdered these people while shouting "God Is Great" and "the prophet is avenged".

I can think of nothing more disgusting that murder in the name of "God" or a "prophet".  If their "god" were truly great, why didn't he deal with he offenders himself? Why did that "prophet" need people murdered? Most importantly, do any of these people really expect any of us to respect their religion when they engage in this barbaric behavior?

Where this kind of thing tears me up mentally is that I want to believe that these people are just a diseased part of a benign whole. It just seems like the disease keeps growing and getting uglier and uglier and I don't see many attempts by the supposedly good elements in this religion speaking or working to remove these cancers. In simpler terms, I never see moderate Islam speaking out against radical Islam, and when you don't speak out against them, it makes you seem complicit in their actions. I'm sure someone more liberal and intelligent than me may say my terminology is off and that this isn't an "Islam" problem, but a "terrorist" problem, but that is the corner that people like me get boxed into when we hear the attacks were carried out in the name of religion.

I don't have any solutions or suggestions here. Just thoughts on a bunch of people killed because they made jokes and the animals who killed them.
