Texas Lawmakers need to look up the definition of a  "slippery slope" logical fallacy.  These are arguments people make that says if you all "a" then you are also allowing all the other letters and more beyond "z".  Basically what they're saying is if gay marriage is allowed then restrictions on age, polygamy, incest and polygamy could also be challenged.  Seriously, are these college educated people?

63 Texas Republicans signed a "friend of the court" thingy to try to get Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott's ban on gay marriage reinstated.  So far bans on gay marriage have been overturned 29 out of 29 times.  How long are we going to fight to prevent one group from being happy? I'm sorry if it's "against your religion", but "my constitution" trumps your religion. I also very much don't understand people wanting to break this down into a Republican -vs- Democrat issue. It just seems to be a straight up "do we treat gay people like other humans" issue and that is that.

I also have to ask, is keeping gay people from getting married the issue Texas should be focused on?  I have a better one, what about WATER. Then there are things like highways, job growth, education and on an on. Still we have 63 lawmakers wasting everyone's time with this nonsense. This is a losing battle and a fight that is only being fought so that these people can say they "fought for Texas families" in their next campaign.  Well, you aren't fighting for MY family.  I have gay people in my family.  They don't bother anyone. They don't march in parades. They have to live quietly closeted, raise kids and pretend that they're just room mates because of assholes like Abbot and his sycophants.

Here's the full story on this tremendous waste of Texan's time.
