The Texas Tech Red Raiders will participate in the College World Series in Omaha after winning the Lubbock Super Regional over East Carolina. The Red Raiders clinched on Sunday afternoon with a dominating 11-0 performance.

After Ryan Moseley had to pitch in the Saturday game and wasn't available to start Sunday, freshman Erikson Lanning got the nod and never looked back. He pitched seven innings, striking out six and not allowing a hit after the second inning. Lanning completely iced a blazing hot Pirate offense.

The Red Raiders got the offense going early getting lead-off walk from Stephen Smith, followed by a single from Orlando Garcia and a bunt single from Tanner Gardner, loading the bases. Neslony drew a bases loaded walk, pushing the lead to 1-0 before Eric Gutierrez laced a two-RBI single into the outfield. This made the score 3-0, pushing the Pirates' starter out of the game in the first inning.

Tech didn't need any more offense, but that didn't stop them as they scored three more in the 3rd inning on a two-run double by Hunter Hargrove. A wild pitch would score Gutierrez before the inning ended.

Lanning cruised through the 4th, 5th and 6th innings before Garcia pushed the lead to seven with an RBI double in the bottom of the 6th.

Gutierrez, Hargrove and Tyler Floyd kept the offense going in the 7th inning pushing the lead to 10-0 making way for Hayden Howard to spell Lanning for the final two innings of work.

Hargrove added his 4th RBI of the day in the 8th to push the score to its final 11-0 resting point.

The 9th inning went quickly, with Eric Gutierrez appropriately involved in all three outs to end the game.
