The Red Raiders played a rough and tough game against the #6 West Virginia Mountaineers, but couldn't hold on for a third conference win, falling 80-76.

Tech struggled early adapting to the stuffy defense of West Virginia, who seems to be in love with the press. The Red Raiders were eventually able to find a way to make some things happen, and even took a lead into the break, 43-40.

Jaysean Paige led the charge in the second half for the Mountaineers however, scoring 22,  and even though Zach Smith posterized with some monster dunks and ended with 18, the Mountaineers just wouldn't be denied.

The Red Raiders will visit the best team in the conference and land, Oklahoma, on Tuesday night.
