Kliff Kingsbury announced Saturday, January 2nd, that the strength and conditioning coach has resigned. Chad Dennis had held the position since Kingsbury was hired in 2013.
“We would like to thank Chad Dennis for the three years he led our strength and conditioning program,” Kingsbury said. “We wish him well in all his future endeavors.”

Dennis had been on staff with Kingsbury at Houston and Texas A&M, where Dennis held the assistant strength and conditioning coach at Texas A&M (2002-05, 2012), Houston (2006-12) and the same position at Connecticut (2005-06).

“I’ve enjoyed my three seasons at Texas Tech,” Dennis said. “I’d like to thank Coach Kingsbury for this tremendous opportunity, and I wish him and our players all the best moving forward.”
This pushes the total of staff replacements needed to 6. New hires will be made as soon as possible.
No one can possibly say now that Kliff cannot make the tough decisions after basically cleaning house on all of his original hires. Kingsbury has gained valuable experience and will make much more educated decisions on his staff 2.0.
That's not to say that Kingsbury's original hires were bad hires. Just not what was needed for a young team and a young head coach. Experience breeds confidence. Confidence breeds success.
And that's the goal.
No word on possible replacements.
