The do-or-die, balls-to-the-wall attitude rang as true as the Victory Bells this weekend in Lubbock, as Texas Tech escaped having its season ended early by East Carolina on its own turf.

Friday, the Pirates ambushed the Red Raiders to the tune of an 8-6 victory on 13 hits and no errors.

Saturday, the antics were much more dramatic, as Ryan Dugger was summoned from the bullpen in the bottom of the ninth with the scored knotted at 1. Dugger was able to work out of a two-man-on jam, then he really showed his worth: he pitched the next four innings  in scoreless fashion, allowing Eric Gutierrez to earn the winning run(s) with a two-run single in the 13th. The final from Saturday was 3-1.

Sunday, things were much less dramatic and way more fun for the home crowd. Tech simply assembled a barrage from the plate, scoring 11 runs in eight innings, while also holding the Pirates to only two hits and no runs.

The team now travels to Omaha for the second time in three years for yet another chance at an NCAA Championship.
