With a delayed start for some severe weather, we were all forced to wait to open the season up at home with our new coaching staff, new screen, and new agenda.

The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks tried to hang tough for most of the first quarter, which lasted close to an hour, though a quick screen that went for over 40 yards within the opening minute to Jakeem Grant set the perspective for the rest of the night. Tech ended up taking down the Jacks by 48, with a score of 61 to 13.

Mayfield had some miscues, though he didn't have a turnover, as did the defense, giving up a huge 72-yard bomb from SFA's Attaway and company.

The REAL test comes this Thursday, the Lone Star Pride face-off, against Texas Christian.
