Texas Tech has snapped a nearly decade-long losing streak against the Oklahoma State Cowboys Saturday night in Stillwater.

The 41-17 upset over the Pokes is also the first win for the Red Raiders in Stillwater since 2001, when the team was led onto the field by then-QB Kliff Kingsbury. It's also Kingsbury's first win over OSU since he took the job.

True freshman QB Alan Bowman, who notched several awards in the previous week, had another standout performance, cementing his status as the future of Texas Tech football. In his first two starts (Lamar and Houston), Bowman was already ahead of both Baker Mayfield and Patrick Mahomes in passing yards.

Texas Tech would dominate on offense, with more than 600 yards of offense, featuring Demarcus Felton, Ta'Zahwn Henry and SaRodorick Thompson, all rushing for more than 200 yards total with Felton leading the way.

It was the defense, though, that showed up in the second half that allowed Texas Tech to score 27 unanswered points after a 17-14 point start for Oklahoma State. Texas Tech held Oklahoma State scoreless from the 10:40 mark in the 2nd quarter to the end of the game.

More importantly, for the first time in Kliff Kingsbury's tenure, Texas Tech did whatever they wanted on offense and dominated a Big 12 team physically for an entire game.

And Alan Bowman got a new nickname:
