The 4th Of July is Scheduled to Suck!

Like anybody else, I love fireworks. Of course, it gets old when they're set off too early or too late, but I'm all for people blowing all kinds of stuff up for a couple hours on Independence Day. Right now it looks like your choices for the 4th are going to be severely limited.

Lubbock County Commissioners have just banned "rockets on sticks" and "rockets with fins" for this 4th of July.  Basically they don't want anything that is on fire and capable of returning to earth. I guess it's not that bad because you can get some pretty cool mortar loads these days. And also, who doesn't love snakes and sparklers, yeah, you know, the "good stuff?"
