Recently I saw a very good friend of mine update his status and posted a picture, then tagged a bunch of people and everyone seemed to get a quick laugh out of it. The problem was not all people found the humor is said picture and as I kept reading the thread, I saw someone post, I am sorry but I unfriend you. Let's take a look at what unfriending looks like in my world.

What I have noticed in the years that I have been on Facebook, is it a public billboard for someone to post their problems and to complain about whatever it is that has ruined their day.

PLAIN AND SIMPLE IT IS ALL FOR ATTENTION!

In this instance the person took the time and said "I am sorry but I unfriend you" which got a few likes for the comment but whatever. This is my personal opinion on why someone would jump in and announce that they are unfriending on Facebook. My answer is that you really don't matter in that persons life, just simple Facebook friends is all, because if they were friends outside of Facebook, simply unfriending someone in real life just isn't that easy.

Here is my opinion on how I would have handled the situation if I was being called out for something I posted and being unfriended on Facebook.

First who cares, go ahead and unfriend me, we aren't real friends, either I added you or you added me because we either know each other through a show or a mutual friend. If we were friends outside of Facebook then we would have talked about it whatever was bothering you, not just push a button and unfriend.

Second now that you have taken the step to unfriend me on Facebook, when I do see you out and about don't say hi to me or act like we are friends.

It was you that unfriended me and now you want to say hi? Get out of here with that nonsense.

If you feel the need to unfriend someone on sicial media then do so without seeking attention from outsiders and shoot them a message and express your opnion in a private message.

I hope yall have a great Thanksgiving and weekend!
