“The Great Pumpkin Patch” Floydada Punkin Festival 2012

How many of you knew that Floydada, Texas is considered to be the pumpkin capital of the USA? To be honest, neither did I until I heard about the annual "Punkin Day Festival" the city holds every year.

Check out the city's website for all the details about how Floydada earned the title, then make plans to head east this coming Saturday, October 13, 2012 for the yearly event.

The festival will start off at 9:00 a.m. and be filled with a little something for everyone. There are all kinds of craft booths, games for the kids, and adults who still feel like kids, food booths, costume judging and pumpkin judging contests.

You can buy your pumpkins for all your spooky jack-o-lanterns, maybe even get a few carving tips from local experts. Visit a pumpkin patch and get some great fall shots with the family, then head back to the town square for a good old fashion street dance.
