The Results Of Texas Planned Parenthood Cuts Are In, And They’re Not Good
I remember how proud my football teammates were when I told them I was moving to Texas. It was the "Big Hat" state where everyone was welcome, everyone was friendly and everyone lived with a sense of pride. Now, we have progressively become the "derp, derp, derpty-derp, state".
If you have a little money to lose, I can give you names and address of good people who did just as you're thinking, they didn't like it so they got up and moved (to Colorado and Florida). Myself, I'm determined to stay here for a bit and try to get Texas back to being the friendliest place on earth.
So, the cuts to Planned Parenthood in Texas begain in 2011. 66% of the family planning grants were cut. So what did you get for those morally righteous savings? Well how about a ton of babies? So, keep in mind these are low-income folks, so now you're in charge of helping to raise their children.
This is the "derp" moment. Did you think people were going to stop doing it? Did you think that all of a sudden these people were going to be able to cough up money they don't have for food and put it into birth control? Do you not realize that these hungry kids with no hope are going to grow up and be desperate enough to commit crimes so they can eat? Do you realize you're going to be paying for their extended stays in prison?
So, congrats to you conservatives. You hurt Planned Parenthood. Now get ready to pay for it. *Derp*.
