Oh you youngsters.  To me there was always only one "Rev" and that is The Reverend Horton Heat.  The Rev has been rockin' Lubbock and various road houses around the country since forever a go.  I've heard many descriptions given to his music, but myself I'd call it "supercharged rock-a-billy".

You don't even know what you're missing until you've seen the Rev live.  It seems unreal that anybody can even pick a guitar that fast and with such clarity, tone and precision.  Heck I could die happy just watching Jimbo on the standup slap bass all night.  Holding everything down these days on drum is Scott Churilla.

The Rev is an acquired taste like sushi.  Once you appreciate it, it's pretty much all you want.  You know that one friend of yours who talks about nothing but sushi?  That's how you are after seeing the Rev. How about this quote from Lemmy of Motorhead ""He believes in the music he plays, so go see him, or I'll kill you."  Yeah, he inspires fans that way.

It's hard to imagine that there will one day come a time when the Reverend no longer plays Lubbock, myself, I'm not taking that chance.  Needless to say, portions of the RockShow will be prerecorded Wednesday morning.

Here's the Rev's latest song:
