Today marks the seventh anniversary of the RockShow hitting the FMX airwaves.  It's been a crazy trip.

So what can I tell you about what was going on behind the scenes? Well it's like this, we knew Bob & Tom was wore the hell out (yet still to this day they play the same crap over and over).  FMX was losing listeners because the show just never really fit. The show was just the best option we had when Jaqui and I decided our old show had run it's course.

As the Brand Manager of KFMX, I knew the listeners wouldn't want another all talk morning show. I also knew that Heathen and I could beat the snot out of every other mornings show. We then totally bullshitted our way onto the air by saying that the music was the reason we were doing this and it would help us win the battle. We then put together a simple formula, we would never play less than ten songs an hour, and boil all the other crap other morning shows talked about into just a few minutes each hour.

The show took off and we gradually drifted away from some of the music features we used to have. For instance we used to do Rock News three times a morning, but we've found that once, and sometimes twice a morning is all we need. We also keep the "business' part of the show really minimal (talking about shows and stuff). We try to entertain and leave it at that. Even then, we still play the same amount of music that we ever did.

For a while we had the show syndicated in two other markets.  We quickly found out that it was too much work with the technology available. It sucked all the fun out of it for us, so we quit those places. We have been killin' it ever since. We have beat EVERY morning show in town and ran a few out of it. Our listeners have graciously made us Lubbock's morning show, which is another way of saying if something is going on, you'll hear about it on the RockShow.

We appreciate everyone listening to the show. I wish there was more dirt or insight I could give you. We just get up and try to make each other laugh each morning and get our listeners caught up in it. We'll keep the laughs coming. We'll keep the music coming. We are pretty proud to be called "The RockShow".
