It was on this day in 1986 that we lost Phil Lynott bassist and lead vocalist for the band Thin Lizzy.

Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy was an Irish musician that played bass and sang for Thin Lizzy. Thin Lizzy reached commercial success with their hits that included "Jailbreak" "Cowboy Song" "The Boys Are Back In Town" and "Whiskey In the Jar."

Phil Lynott would later take on a solo career and write 2 poetry books and after Thin Lizzy broke up in 1984 Phil would front the band Grand Slam.

Thin Lizzy is such an amazing band, when you hear the pure vocals of Phil Lynott, he takes to the heart of rock and roll.

The Wrecking Yard  remembers Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy.
