Pink Floyd will always be remembered as one of the most influential rock bands of all time. It was on this day in 2006 that we lost Syd Barrett, one of the founding members of Pink Floyd.

After leaving Pink Floyd in 1968, he went into seclusion focusing on art and gardening. Numerous biographies and songs have been written for him including 1975 song "Wish You Were Here."
