I think at this point you've probably read every recap of the Thanksgiving game. It was an amazing night of football that really put Texas Tech in the spotlight.

I think one thing that is necessary to put out there is that Coach Kliff Kingsbury out-coached Charlie Strong and the University of Texas.

The hot new piece of slang is 'on fleek.' It means on point and/or perfect. Coach Kingsbury was on fleek on Thursday night's game.

Yes, the players stepped up, and yes, we caught a break on a bobbled pass. But it was the coach throwing everything -- including the kitchen sink -- at the University of Texas that kept the team off-balance.

The coach called the right plays at the right time, including a trick play that totally caught the Longhorns off-guard.

Yes, football is a team sport, but the coach tends to be the one raked over the coals when things don't work out. That's why I thought knocking this blog out was important.

Kingsbury takes a lot of flak for being "the bro coach" because he's young and was relatively inexperienced when he took over the Texas Tech football program. I can tell you one thing for sure: Kingsbury learns from every win, loss, play and experience that the team goes through.

Sometimes it seems like it takes a bit for those lessons to crystalize, but make no mistake that Kingsbury gets better at his job every game and every year.

I'm glad that enough of the Texas Tech faithful have stuck by the coach. This season pretty much guarantees that Kingsbury will be around a couple more years. I don't think he'll have to rely on that, though. I think Kingsbury is smart enough to keep piling up more wins and, in the process, create an amazing legacy at Texas Tech.
