Three Bands That Rocked The Hub In 2014

With 2014 coming to an end--I thought this would be as good a time as any to recap the list of a few of my new favorite up and coming bands.

Here ya go:

Coming in at number three: The pride of Pottsville, PA (go Steelers) is Crobot. We first saw these guys in town at the Purple Party--then headlining their own show for the fine people of Lubbock at Jake's back in October.

Number two goes to Starset out of Columbus, OH. This band played the Hub four times in 2014 with shows at the FMX Birthday Bash, demonstrations at Jake's and Backstage Lubbock and sharing the stage with In This Moment. Good dudes, great band, cool sound.

Number one in my book has to go to Avatar: One of the best live bands I've seen in a good while made their way to Lubbock from Gothenburg, Sweden for the Purple Party filling in on the Pavilion stage when members of another band got sick. They returned to the Hub City in September to open for the one and only Rob Zombie.

We were fortunate to have great live music from some old favorites and new up and coming artists in 2014.

2015 is shaping up to set the bar a little higher.
