Three Wounded, One Arrested in Saturday Night Lubbock Shooting
Two adults and a juvenile were shot during a civil disturbance in the 2100 block of East 30th Street around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night.
KAMC News reports children were playing in the front yard of a residence at the aforementioned location when they were confronted by an elderly man.
The children then left the property, but returned with a group of eight adults a short time later. A verbal altercation ensued with the same elderly man.
During the altercation, another man, later identified as Kenneth Davis (22), walked up and joined the argument before pulling a gun from his backpack and firing at the elderly man.
The elder then drew a gun and returned fire.
Police said three people -- two adults and one juvenile -- were struck by bullets in the incident. The two adult victims were identified as Johnnie Taylor (82) and Cary Taylor (44). Both were taken to Covenant Medical Center with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
The juvenile victim who has not been named was taken to University Medical Center, also with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Kenneth Davis was later apprehended by police and charged with two counts of aggravated assault, both of which are felonies.
