Throwback Thursday: Rockin’ a Listener’s Backyard in 1988 (Photo)

A listener posted this to the front page of KFMX.com. It is circa 1998. I'm glad he remembered the year because I would have been at a total loss.

Micky Alan posted this picture from 1988. This is one of those rare occasions where I remember the event.

I can't remember why or how we ended up there, but Micky had some kind of party in his backyard and we just brought the van back there and threw down. I also seem to remember that he had a  basketball goal and we made people shoot trick shots for prizes.

That's me (Wes Nessman) on the left, Micky Alan in the middle and my music director at the time John McGann on the right. Not long after this picture was taken I moved to Austin to do morning radio there.

Admit it: you're jealous of my gorgeous womb broom, aren't you? I also like how this proves that not only was I born in Compton (like Snoop), but I wore a top hat (a low rise version) before Slash. Also, notice that this was so far back in the day that the stations logo was PAINTED on the van. They didn't have stick-on graphics back then.
