If you were among one of the thousands at the FMX Freakfest, you were likely delayed getting through the gate.

After speaking to security and promoters, we discovered exactly what was causing the extremely long wait time to get into the venue.

This was the first time e-tickets were offered for a concert event at this venue through the promoter. While this was meant to be a convenient service for people, as always there are those in this world who are always looking for a way to make a quick buck.

It seems some knucklehead(s) purchased a few e-tickets, printed them off by the hundreds, then sold the copies to unsuspecting fans for $20 each. The only problem would be that these tickets were bogus and showed up as such when they were scanned.

When the people who purchased the fake e-tickets got to the gate with their "tickets," they found out that the ticket had already been scanned and were denied entry, thus holding up the entry process for everyone else.

Let this be a warning to everyone: do not try to save a few bucks on concert tickets by purchasing from a shady third party. Only buy them from a reputable ticket outlet. Your best bet is to purchase tickets from Ralph's Records or Ticketfly.com for most events that take place at the Lonestar Event Center.

We always announce on air on our website where tickets can be purchased. We do that for this very reason. We care about our listeners/concert goers and we don't like to see you get taken advantage of.

Again, it's simple: If someone has a $50 ticket on sale for $20, it's probably a good idea to pass on it and find an authorized ticket outlet. We suggest that you do not purchase e-tickets from some stranger on the internet, eBay, Craigslist, Facebook, or any other social media site.
