So this is my third of three blogs on gun violence. I've avoided writing about this topic for a long time, so long that it feels like it's past due. The problem is, there doesn't seem to be an "moderate" voices out there, just people with extreme opinions.

After a lot of research and really sorting out my own feelings my best guess is that the only tools in the fight against gun violence are education and time.  While we have an epidemic of mass shootings, gun ownership is actually on the decline. The media is also learning to not give the shooters the fame they seek. I think would be shooters need to know the real negative impact they have on the world and the fact that no one is going to give a crap out who they were on what their statement was. I believe there should be a wave of anti-gun violence education everywhere. Demonize the acts, not the tools. Let people know that they earn no respect or distinction for their hateful acts and that they'll only be seen as sad, pathetic blights on society and/or not recognized at all.

Our goal should be simple, don't try to take guns away from people, try to take away the reasons people want to misuse them.
