The Drive4COPD 300 at Daytona had a wild, wild finish, as Kyle Larson, who was involved in a huge last lap pile-up was sent airborne into the catch-fence sending debris including the engine and a tire from Larson's car into the grandstands.

The video of the wreck is below, showcasing just how dangerous this sport can be.

However, that's the fun, right? That's what it's all about, right?

Of course, nobody is ever expecting to get hurt at these events, which is why NASCAR takes the most time and effort trying to make sure fans can have the safest experience. However, sometimes, accidents happen and things don't necessarily go to plan. An airborne vehicle violently moving through a wire fence isn't exactly going to have the best results, but that's a chance fans and NASCAR alike are willing to take.

Anyway, the race itself was full of action and suspense, I mean, you couldn't ask for much more, especially out of a Nationwide race.

Congrats to Tony Stewart on his seventh NNS Daytona win, as well.

Thankfully, every driver is okay, reports at this time are that 15 fans were injured by flying debris, of those one is currently being reported as critical. Hopefully those with more serious injuries will recover fully and soon.

Meanwhile, check out the video...
