I am not an expert. I am just like you. I carry a lot of baggage around and sometimes it gets to be a little much.

I have compiled a little list for you and I promise at least one of these will work for you. I cannot stress #1 enough. It should be number 1-5 with the rest below it. It has worked wonders for me.

Get To The Root Of What Is Stressing You Out

Is it meditation? Is it yoga for the brain. Nope, but a lot of times when you feel stressed or even more so aggravated, it's important to sort through these things mentally and deal with them one by one. Often you'll find that that thing that was actually aggravating you is a tiny thing that keep forgetting to deal with or do.  Just sit still, think and try to think of everything that's bothering you. You will eventually hit on something like "oh, I forgot to get that key made". When you hit that item, you will de-stress. If you have a series of items, mentally sorting them will allow you to deal with each task individually instead of letting things snowball, and quite frankly, clog up your brain.  I swear by this one, try it.

    Unplug

Yes, we very much want you online and interacting. All things should be in moderation though. If you are constantly bombarded with messages and other peoples stress, you end up taking that stuff on. Just unplug for a bit, and/or hide those people who bring stress into your daily life.

    Distract Yourself

I have found immeasurable peace as of late with a return to substance reading. Now by "substance" I'm not referring to technical manuals, I'm talking about any book, short story or anything that will allow you to escape into your own thoughts for a while. I just read a collection of Stephen King horror stories and I can't believe the effect it had on me. It was like a massage for my brain.

    Volunteer

I cannot stress this one enough. There are people, animal and things in this world that could use a little help from you. Immersing yourself in a volunteer activity that allows you to get away from your day to day activities really helps. Just a couple of hours a month makes a huge difference. You can clean up at an animal shelter, cook food for the homeless, give blood or do any number of things (I find giving blood amazingly relaxing).

Remember That Things Are Rarely As Bad As They Seem

This is so important. I'm sure you're worried about the state of the world, your status at work, or even a suspect blotch on your skin. More often than not, you worried about nothing. Just go back in your mind a little bit and try to even find out a time things were as bad as they seemed. It almost never happens.
