This is a fun one. We're talking a quick bite, snack or treat here in the Hub City. I've got some good ones for you.

I've got fried, sweet, cool, and more in this list. Quick stuff that you can grab and go to quiet late night munchies and cravings. Let me know in the comments if you have more good stuff to add to the list.

    Crispito From Stripes

Ah yes, this is my favorite late night snack. The Crispito (which I guess is just a variation of a Taquito) is chicken and really cheesy cheese fried up in a flour tortilla. Fried, gooey and meaty, it's the basic three food groups all in one.

    Bahama Buck's

Even though I was looking for stuff that wasn't really in-your-face obvious for this list, I could not deny Bahama Buck's.

Shaved Ice and your choice of flavors. It's an upscale snow cone and it's the perfect way to beat the West Texas heat.

Mini Cupcakes From Peace O' Cake

It's good to have mini-cupcakes. You can say it's good because you don't eat too much. I say it's good because I can have a whole bunch of variety.

Peace O' Cake is local and they rule. According to their website, they are doing orders only for right now while they look for a new store location.

  • 4

    Cheddar Peppers From Sonic

I don't even really know what to say about these. If you're not a fan, I don't want to know you. They definitely are a perfect item for this list. Dip them in ranch or have them straight up. They rock!

Cream Cheese Wontons From Lucky Chen

I really hate to tell you guys about my friendly neighborhood Chinese place. I just don't need you in my way.

Lucky Chen is in the shopping center with GameStop and Payless Shoes next to the Walmart on 4th and Ave. Q. This place has more of a lunchroom than restaurant vibe, but takeaway is where it's at.

I love these wontons hot or cold and especially with sweet and sour sauce to dip them in.

Apple Fritter From Rise 'n' Shine Donuts

I prefer these over any other donut, kolache, danish or morning baked goods. The ones from Rise 'n' Shine are absolutely huge -- about the size of the bottom of a large coffee can. It's a chore to finish just one, but I'm just the man for the job.

Fried Zucchini From River Smith's Chicken & Catfish

This is how we do it in Texas. Take some healthy, farm-fresh zucchini, cover it in batter and fry the hell out of it. River Smith's serves this up with a side of ranch and it's near impossible to even wait long enough for them to cool down to eat. These are amazing.

I don't know if it qualifies as 'eating your vegetables,' but it should.

  • Bonus

Pretzel Sticks From The Freaky Tiki Tavern

I'm putting this as a bonus because I own the joint. Still, three soft pretzel sticks/loaves, basted with garlic butter and served with jack cheese and mustard. It's near impossible to not want some the minute they come out of the kitchen.
