A wind storm with tropical storm level winds came across Lubbock and the South Plains Wednesday evening after 6:30pm.

At the KFYO Studios in Southwest Lubbock a peak wind gust of 61 mph was recorded at 7:15pm. Branches were blown off of trees and outdoor furniture was blown around as well.

Texas Tech University's Mesonet observation station recorded a peak wind gust of 63 mph at 7:20pm and the National Weather Service offices in Lubbock recorded a 76 mph wind gust. A 76 mph wind gust was recorded in Levelland at 6:50pm and a 67 mph gust was recorded in Post at 8:06pm.

So far, no injuries nor major property damage has been reported.
