I like some of the big graphic novels and comic series. I've enjoy The Crow, Watchmen, Preacher and a few others. I just haven't been able to get into the superheroes that most people get into.

I took this ammo and information over to my friends at Star Comics and got hooked up with two different series that I now love.

The first one I got turned onto was Southern Bastards. The story isn't unlike the old movie Walking Tall. That is, for a while anyway.

I don't want to spoil it for you, and the fact is that it's only six episodes in (so even I don't know where it's going). It's very much starts like Walking Tall in that a guy goes back to his home town, finds it corrupt and violent and starts cleaning it up. That all changes around episode five.

When I went go to get the latest copy of Southern Bastards, I was turned onto a series that is similar in genre but not in story. This one is called Men Of Wrath, and so far it's absolutely intense and violent. I have zero idea where it's going, but the lead character and opening are so over the top that I have to see whats next.  I'm only two episodes in and I'm hooked.

I strongly believe that both of these will be movies someday. The stories are incredibly cinematic and both take familiar themes and take them to new places. If you're looking for some new stuff to check out, give 'em a try.
