Last night I was going through Facebook and came across the Cattle Decapitation page and a fan of theirs had asked them about a song lyric 'methylchloroisothiazolinone' and yes it's a word that is used in their song Reduced To Paste.

I have always been a fan of Cattle Decap and lead vocalist Travis Ryan's interesting choice of lyrics. I have heard many people make the statement on how easy it is to write music. I don't think there is a better example of killer song lyrics then in Cattle Decapitation's song "Reduced To Paste."

Here is what the fan asked Travis:

Looking over some of the lyrics from the albums... just wondering, does Travis have some sort of medical/bio/organic chem background? In any case, being able to get a line in a song out of "methylchloroisothiazolinone" is impressive.

Travis Ryan response:

Took physiology in high school, medical assisting courses in college where I learned a ton of anatomy and physiology but that line is straight up from reading shampoo bottles while in the shower. Pretty sure Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose is an additive in epoxies(which that song is about) and methylchloroisothiazolinone is straight up from a bottle of shampoo. Hahaha...

Check out the song and see if you can pick out the word methylchloroisothiazolinone.

The video is graphic, so if you have someone around you that shouldn't see it then please don't play it.
