Did you know that motorcyclist are five times more likely to be injured and 25 times more likely to die in a crash...Unfortunately, these are the statistics according to the National Highway Traffic Administration 2011. A (TxDot Cris 2011) study shows that the number of motorcyclist killed annually since 2000 has more than doubled from 196 in 2000 to 470 motorcycle fatalities in 2011. These staggering numbers are the reason the Texas Department of Transportaion will launch "Look twice for motorcycles. Seeing them is saving them."

TxDot and Lubbock Law Enforcement will kick off this public awareness campaign at 10:00am on April 16, 2012 at Wild West Harley Davidson (5702 58th) .

We all know someone directly or indirectly who has been hurt or seriously injured and even killed right in the the Hub City, so this sounds like an idea we should all learn to do in our everyday commute.

It's simple: "LOOK TWICE FOR MOTORCYCLES. SEEING THEM IS SAVING THEM."
