I actually love the little pictures with captions that we call "memes". I like it when they are funny. I can tell you that when they are meant to be political, or sometimes even inspirational, they are often flat out wrong.

I went through this once before when a certain George Washington meme was going around.  It seems that people tend to elaborate a bit, if not out and out lie when these use a meme to spread their agenda. You'd think they'd find something from someone that would match up a bit better to what they actually want to say, but hey, why do research when you can just stretch the true.

Then again, I guess people think a meme is a bit more powerful when expressed by a certain celebrity or historical figure. For instance, there are TONS of Marilyn Monroe quotes out there, most of which she never said.  Also, being as nice as I possibly can to Marilyn as a person, why the hell would I care what an actress said or says? An actress doesn't have any special insight into anything other than acting. If she was an actress who took philosophy or studied with monks or something, I'd get it. In lieu of that, her "thoughts" kind of don't mean anything to me.

All of this, is why I made my own mean at Imgur.com.  It's based on the popular Office Space meme.  Please feel free to use it instead of wasting too much time letting your friends and relatives know they are passing along b.s.
