Here's a kind of sober question for you; how many people do you know that have died while riding a motorcycle? Two came to mind the minute I posed this question to myself.  One was hit, and one may or may not have been run off the road.

Even though Spring doesn't hit until March 1st, it looks like clear sailing in the Hub until then with highs in the 50's to 70's. This is some extra NICE bike weather.  Now it may seem silly that I have to say "watch out for bikers" but they haven't been able to ride for a month or so.  Let's also keep in mind that while it's great of you to keep an eye out on the highways, it's intersections that are most dangerous for bikers. 45% of all bike/car accidents happen at intersections and the scenario is almost always the same-a car turns in front of a motorcyclist. Making that even clearer, we're talking about most of these collisions happening when you are making a left and the motorcyclist is going straight.  I believe these accidents happen due to a lack of focus on the part of the drivers. I think they look, because they of course don't want to have another car hit them, but they look so fast that they can't see motorcycles.

So, easy enough. Do us a little favor and pay just a little more attention while you're making those lefts. Sure, it would be awesome if you'd double check your blind spots as well, but we can eliminate tons of accidents with a little more attention at intersections.
