Rock music has been my companion from about age 12 until the present day. I've checked out a few detours on the way, maybe a little soul or r & b, but for the most part I've made a study of rock. I'm into everything from rockabilly to newer bands like Bring Me The Horizon.  All of these bands were/are anti-establishment, anti-authority, outside-the-mainstream kind of things.

These days you have a large group of former rockers who are now spending a majority of their time listening to conservative radio and it makes everything a confusing mess.  One has the motto of "Sex, Drugs & Rock and Roll" and the other has the motto of "God, Guns & Country".  These two ideas have various shades of grey in them.  You don't have to have drugs to enjoy rock and roll and you don't have to give up sex to enjoy guns.  Still, the later represents mainstream conservative ideals and that is NOT rock and roll.  Kurt Cobain, Elvis, Mick Jagger, and even Johnny Cash represented rebellion. What is Slipknot if not a giant "F" You to the straight laced white collar crowd?  Now that same straight laced white collar crowd want to pretend that they still rock, but the don't. They used to complain about "the man putting them down" and now they are complaining that they "are the man and they don't get to put anybody down".

Fortunately for us, theres always new blood out there. There's also a huge group of folks who haven't lost their passion and love of life and music. These are the true FMX fans, and these are the fans that just made FMX #1 all over again.  Our personal thanks to those of you who did not get old and bitter, that continue to carry the flame and come out for shows. We hope you'll continue to rock with FMX for many years to come.
