Are you ready for one of  the biggest douche moves you ever heard?  According to Everything Lubbock, the guy behind the "Jesus Tattoo" billboards is suing L.I.S.D. because they wouldn't play a commercial for it on the Lowery field scoreboard.

It turns out that the group behind the Jesus Tattoo campaign is led by a former Texas Tech Chancellor named David L. Miller. This numbnuts claims his first amendment rights were violated because other faith based groups were allowed to advertise and he wasn't.  Okay, let's start with one simple point.  Have you ever seen a sign outside a business that says "we reserve the right to refuse service"?  Next, the Jesus Tattoo campaign was upsetting to a number of believers and non-believers alike.  Third, the line has to be drawn somewhere.  Would L.I.S.D. be violating anyone's rights by turning down a condom commercial? No.  L.I.S.D. has and must have the ability to judge what is right by community standards.

This jerk knows this. There is no way he couldn't. In my opinion he's just suing for more free publicity.  Strange how you can claim that's "okay" when you're doing it in Jesus' name, huh?

Lastly, I'd like to mention the jerkiness of this campaign in general. These people threw up these provocative signs and hid their identities behind a website in the Cayman Islands (totally true).  They basically started a controversy in our town, with national media implications, and hid like scared little children. They are and were literally what is commonly referred to as "sh!t stirrers".

So, to completely paraphrase Bill Hicks, if these people truly believe L.I.S.D. wronged them, they should do what Jesus would do AND FORGIVE THEM.  Instead, we're going to have to defend against these self-righteous asswipes in court.

Sorry, but this one REALLY pisses me off.
