Brenda Duby with United Supermarkets joined us today to discuss the Fall season and what we need to know about squash and pumpkins.

There are two different types of squash, Summer and Winter squash. Summer squash is like zucchini and yellow squash. Summer squash types have thin skin and the seeds can be eaten easily. Winter squash has thicker skin. For example, pumpkins and spaghetti squash. Winter squash seeds normally need to be roasted.

Winter squash also have a longer shelf life. It's why your pumpkins last a long time. Duby also discussed how pumpkins aren't just orange. You can check out all the different varieties at United Supermarkets.

When eating pumpkin, yellow squash, or even spaghetti squash Duby says that you are also getting a good amount of Vitamin A.
